Our heavy duty skid steer forestry mulcher for land clearing turns a loader you already own into a land-clearing machine. The head mounts on the front arms and runs from the machine's own hydraulics — an open drum sits at the front of the housing behind a push bar, fed by a hose assembly and couplers — and the rotor shreds standing brush, saplings and medium-diameter trees in a single pass instead of felling, piling and burning them.
One attachment family covers everything from gateways, fence lines and trail edges up to full-width corridor clearing. You choose a drum rotor or a disc rotor, and the housing is finished in matte black. Built to run all day in regrowth, rock and grit, this is a machine for real clearing work rather than the occasional light-duty brush job.
Because the cut material stays on the ground as mulch, nothing has to be hauled away and there is no burn pile to manage: the biomass breaks down in place and returns organic matter to the soil. That is the practical difference on a clearing job — one carrier machine, one operator, and ground that is ready for the next stage of work.
| Rotor configuration | Drum or disc cutting system |
| Drum rotor | Triple helix tooth layout for an aggressive, controlled cut |
| Drum teeth | Heat-treated, bolt-on forged alloy teeth |
| Drum tooth replacement | Bolt-on design, replaceable in the field |
| Disc rotor | Machined, statically balanced cutting disc |
| Disc teeth | Carbide-tipped mulching teeth |
| Disc cutting speed | Trees up to 8 in in diameter processed in seconds |
| Drum suited to | Dense brush and heavy reduction work |
| Disc suited to | High-speed clearing of larger stems |

Site preparation and land development. Clearing a building pad, an access road or a subdivision lot with a mulcher folds three operations — cutting, piling and hauling — into one pass, and the mulch left behind settles the surface while the site waits for the next trade. On comparable cut-and-haul work, clearing this way can cut project timelines by up to 70%.
Right-of-way maintenance. Along transmission corridors, pipeline routes and roadside verges the requirement is usually a specified clearing width with the terrain either side left intact. The head works to that width and leaves the ground behind it stable rather than churned up.
Forest management and fire prevention. Building defensible space and reducing fuel loads means moving through heavy brush quickly. The FHX66 Defender series and similar models take heavy brush and trees up to 10 inches in diameter, which is what firebreak creation and forestry maintenance demand.
Agricultural reclamation. Fence lines, overgrown pasture and field edges come back into use without burning or hauling. Fine mulch from the drum units breaks down quickly and returns nutrients to the soil.
Lots, trails and public ground. Building lots, recreational trails and roadside regrowth all finish tidy enough for developed areas, so one machine covers work that would otherwise need a separate brush crew.
Ground that has been left too long. Rank regrowth, saplings and standing dead timber are exactly what a heavy duty skid steer forestry mulcher for land clearing is for: the rotor takes the material at the base and reduces it in place, so a site that has been left for years can be brought back without a felling crew on site.

Lovin (Jining Lovin Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.) has supplied machinery buyers since 2017 as a distributor, sourcing through authorised channels and a verified supplier network. One order can cover the machinery mix your customers ask for and leave as a single consolidated shipment. Stocked items dispatch within about 7 days; lead times are confirmed against availability at enquiry, and busy-season schedules are agreed with suppliers in advance. OEM and customised builds follow the same route, and spare and wear parts stay supported after delivery. We export to Europe, South America, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and Russia.
Standard-flow loaders running 10–30 GPM and high-flow machines running 30–55 GPM are both covered. The rotor is driven by the loader's hydraulics, so the motor configuration is matched to your machine's flow rate rather than fixed, and performance stays consistent whether you run a compact loader or a large high-flow unit. Send us the make, model and flow rate and we will confirm the right configuration before the build starts.
Yes. Widths are built to order across the range — from the narrowest deck for access and edge work up to a full-width head for corridor clearing — and cutting capacity can be adjusted for trees up to 10 inches in diameter on certain models. The specification is worked through with you so the attachment suits the material on your own sites rather than a generic size.
The inner liner and critical components are made from Hardox 450 wear-resistant steel, and the cutting deck and depth limiters use the same material, so the parts that meet rock and grit hold their shape. Frames are reinforced for impact, and the rotor runs on SKF spherical bearings rather than standard straight bearings, which last longer under constant load. Teeth are bolt-on wear parts, so the most frequent replacement on this machine is also the quickest one.
Regular inspection of synchronous belt tension and lubrication is the core of the routine. The drive uses an oil bath lubrication system, which reduces wear and stretches the service interval, and the belt is checked for tension and wear at each interval. Replace the bolt-on forged teeth as soon as cutting efficiency drops — worn teeth load the rotor and slow the finish — and check the rear chain safeguards and deflectors before each job.
The controlled cutting action of the drum mulchers directs material downward, which makes them the safer option along roadside verges and in residential areas compared with conventional clearing methods. The mulch also breaks down where it falls, so the finished ground looks worked rather than stripped.
Three things decide whether a given deck is right for your machine: the hydraulic flow it supplies, the quick-attach plate it runs, and its rated operating capacity against the weight of the deck you are considering. Send us those details and we will tell you which end of the width range your loader can genuinely run all day.
